Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS) is a coalition of Valley citizens working for a strong and vibrant Swannanoa by encouraging active involvement, fostering community spirit, and honoring our unique history and natural heritage.
FANS organizes several community-building activities, including the annual Swannanoa Sweep Community Clean-up, and a hugely popular yard sale event that draws hundreds of vendors and buyers. It also manages a large Giving Garden that helps feed the hungry in the Swannanoa Valley. FANS publishes a free, bimonthly e-newsletter highlighting news and events in the community.
